ABOUT

Danso Leadership Academy is a Gambian American STEM school located on the coastal Rd, Old Yundum, The Gambia.

The school was established in 2019 by a Gambian American Family, to provide high quality science, Technology, engineering, environment and mathematics education from pre-k to 9th grade.

Danso Leadership Academy combines the Gambian and an international curricula to provide students with a unique opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

ADMISSION PROCESS

We welcome students into a safe, nurturing, and academically driven environment.

STEP 1: Collection of Admission Form

Parents/guardians can obtain an admission form from the school office during working hours. The form should be filled out completely with all required details.

STEP 2: Submission of Documents

The completed admission form must be submitted together with the following:

• Birth certificate or other age verification document
• Two recent passport-size photographs of the student
• Previous school report card (if applicable)
• Parent/guardian’s contact information

STEP 3: Entrance Assessment

• New applicants may be required to sit for an entrance test in core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Science).
• Nursery and lower primary applicants will be assessed mainly through oral and basic written activities.

STEP 4: Interview

• Parents/guardians and the student may be invited for a short interview with the school administration to understand expectations and share information about DLA's values and policies.

STEP 5: Admission Offer

• Successful candidates will receive an admission letter from the school.
• Parents/guardians will be informed about school fees, uniforms, and other requirements.

STEP 6: Payment & Enrollment

• Once fees are paid and uniforms/books collected, the student will be officially enrolled

Learning Environment

Danso Leadership Academy prides itself with brand new campus buildings with modern facilities and school furniture that are imported from America.

With air conditioning and proper ventilation in a quiet and secure campus that is equipped with high speed star link satellite internet, the students will be fully immersed.

We believe that a conducive learning environment with small class sizes is essential for students to learn at their best.

Technology Program

Danso Leadership Academy is partnering with Eastern Pennsylvania Robotics Alliance in America to develop a first Lego Robotics program for our students.

Students will be working with legos, Ev3 Robotics and drones.

Danso Leadership Academy students will also benefit from visiting teachers from America.
